Alongside two close friends, we initially joined with the intention of sticking together, never anticipating that our tenure would extend this long. However, my experience since then has been nothing short of extraordinary. Beginning as a Cloud Apprentice, I transitioned to the realm of Quality Assurance in July of the same year.

Throughout my time at 1GEN, I have undergone significant personal and professional growth. From my humble beginnings as a Cloud apprentice to assuming the roles of a QA Engineer and eventually, a TECH OPS Lead, my journey has been one of continuous learning and development. Today, I find myself proudly serving as both a QA and TECH OPS Lead, a position I am immensely grateful for. 1GEN has played a pivotal role in shaping me into the person I am today, and for that, I am deeply thankful.

My journey began in 2018 when I stepped into the world of web design as an intern. Fresh out of school, I had enthusiasm but lacked practical knowledge. Those initial months were challenging, but they were also transformative. In just four months, I soaked up knowledge like a sponge, honing my skills and expanding my capabilities.

Back then, our organization was small, with just 18-20 members. As the sole designer, I yearned for guidance, for someone to show me the ropes. When I voiced this to Paul, I expected him to bring in a senior designer. Instead, his response changed my perspective entirely. 'You are a Lead now,' he said. 'You are a one-man army.' Those words resonated with me, instilling a newfound confidence.

From that moment on, I embraced my role as a leader. I took it upon myself to mentor and guide junior designers, sharing my knowledge and experiences with them. As our team grew, so did my responsibilities. Today, with 100 members strong, I look back on this journey with pride and gratitude.

Being an apprentice taught me more than just design skills; it taught me resilience, determination, and the power of belief in oneself. I am grateful for the opportunities I've been given and excited for what the future holds. My journey from intern to leader is a testament to the philosophy of the apprentice – to embrace challenges, seize opportunities, and never stop learning.

Eager to gain practical knowledge in SEO and SMM, I dove headfirst into the learning phase of my life, hungry for more skills and expertise. At that point, I hadn't even considered my long-term plans regarding a full-time role.

But fate had its own plans. Within just four months, I received a call offering me a full-time position, marking a sudden shift from digital marketing to a PMO role within 1GENx. It was a leap into the unknown, a challenge I embraced wholeheartedly.

With the unwavering support of Paul and the team, I embarked on this new journey with zeal. Despite initially lacking knowledge and experience in project management, their encouragement fueled my determination to learn and grow. Through perseverance and dedication, I acquired new skills and transformed myself in ways I never imagined.

The turning point came with the Leadership Program ELEVATE. It was a catalyst for personal growth, teaching me invaluable lessons in courage, vulnerability, and effective leadership. Surrounded by supportive teammates and engaging in team-building activities and offsites, I flourished during my apprenticeship and PMO role.

Today, I stand as a proud lead, steering the ship as the Digital Marketing Lead. My journey, from apprentice to full-time professional, is a testament to the power of perseverance, learning, and embracing new challenges. I am grateful for the opportunities I've been given and excited for the journey ahead as I continue to lead and expand my skill set.
